Cal Vornberger:  President and Creative Director


An award-winning designer and art director for television, stage, and film, Cal art directed numerous Public Television productions including the Emmy award-winning "Joseph Campbell: The Power of Myth," and "The Hidden Government." He was the designer for Howard Stern's first television special and created the scenery for Paul Simon's award-winning music video, "You Can Call Me Al."  He has designed sets for hundreds of  music videos, commercials, operas, and television shows.

Before founding Tumble, Cal worked in theatre and opera at the New York City Opera, The National Opera of Venezuela, The New Jersey State Opera, The Baltimore Opera, and The Opera Company of Philadelphia, to name a few. His theatrical work has been seen on numerous Off-Broadway stages, as well as on Broadway and in regional theatres.

Cal began designing and programming interactive multimedia for companies such as Parke-Davis, AT&T, Toshiba, GTE, and American Express in the late 1980's. In 1990, he created a revolutionary computer-based interactive cable broadcasting system for Brooklyn Community Access Television that is still in use today.

Cal founded Tumble Interactive in 1989 and in 1996 he was named "Top Multimedia Producer of the Year" by Multimedia Producer Magazine.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Cal holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University. He has been a member of the faculties of the University of Texas, New York University, Hunter College, and the Pratt Institute and has published numerous articles about design and computer graphics.
