Tumble Interactive Awarded CD-ROM ContractWill work with Lincoln Institute on Henry George Project
NEW YORK, NY, September 18, 1998 -- Tumble Interactive Media announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy to create a CD-ROM on the life and work of Henry George, the nineteenth century American political economist. The CD-ROM, to be released in late 1999, will focus on the life and work of George, a social philosopher and author of the book "Progress and Poverty," whose concepts on economics continue to be relevant today.
"This interactive learning environment on compact disk will add to the body of knowledge about the work of Henry George, and raise his profile as an important contributor to economic thought," said Cal Vornberger, president of Tumble.
Among other areas, the CD-ROM will present the life and times of George, the historical context of his work, photographs, a bibliography, essays on the relevance of his ideas in today's world, a possible simulation of George's theories, and current research on land value tax.
The CD-ROM, to be available through the Institute's catalogue of courses and other publications, will run on both Macintosh and Windows platforms and will link to the Institute's Web site (www.lincolninst.edu) via a built-in Web browser.
The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy is a nonprofit and tax-exempt educational institution established in 1974. Its mission as a school is to study and teach about land policy, including land economics and land taxation. The Institute's teaching and research programs focus on the underlying concepts that George raised on land use and taxation, which are still important in addressing issues facing society today.
